Cambodia’s Trade Volume Surges to Over USD 36bn in First Eight Months of 2024, Marking a 16.5% Growth

Cambodia’s trade volume reached an impressive USD 36 billion in the first eight months of 2024, marking a significant 16.5% growth compared to the same period in 2023. According to the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia, this robust increase underscores Cambodia’s growing economic activity and strengthens its position in global markets.

The country’s export performance has been particularly strong, with major goods exports exceeding USD 17 billion, reflecting a 16.7% rise year-on-year. Meanwhile, Cambodia’s imports surpassed USD 18 billion, rising by 16.2% compared to last year. These figures highlight the sustained expansion of Cambodia’s trade footprint, driven by growing demand for its goods and diversified import sources.

Cambodia has solidified its status as a key exporter to major global markets, with the United States, Vietnam, China, Japan, Thailand, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, France, and Hong Kong being its top trading partners. This achievement showcases Cambodia’s ability to capitalize on international trade opportunities while navigating global market challenges.
