Cambodia-Vietnam Trade Volume Surges to US$4.6bn in First Seven Months of 2024

In a significant boost to bilateral trade, Cambodia and Vietnam recorded a trade volume of US$4.6 billion between January and July 2024, reflecting a 23.5% increase compared to the same period last year. This data was revealed by the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia on 16 August 2024.

Cambodia’s exports to Vietnam reached an impressive US$2.2 billion, marking a robust 37.7% growth. Key exports included garments and accessories made from fabrics, machinery and electrical appliances, rubber and its derivatives, and various agricultural products.

On the other side, imports from Vietnam amounted to US$2.4 billion, up by 12.9%. These imports comprised minerals, fuels, refined products, machinery and equipment, electrical equipment, synthetic fibres, vehicles, and other materials.

In the broader context of international trade, Cambodia’s total exports in the first seven months of 2024 reached US$14.7 billion, representing a 14% increase. Notably, exports to the United States alone were valued at over US$5.5 billion, a 6.4% rise, while exports to China and Japan saw growth rates of 19.7% and 16.7%, respectively.
