Cambodia-Thailand Trade Reaches US$2.58b in the First Eight Months of 2023

In the initial eight months of 2023, the bilateral trade volume between Cambodia and Thailand amounted to a significant $2.58 billion, as disclosed in a report by the General Department of Customs and Excise. While this figure represents a 19.9% decline compared to the same period last year, it sheds light on the enduring economic collaboration between the two nations.

Cambodia’s exports to Thailand have surged to $646 million, marking a substantial 5.4% year-on-year increase. These exports encompass a diverse range of products, including textiles, agricultural items, gems, raw materials, and semi-finished products.

Conversely, Cambodia’s imports from Thailand have registered a decrease of 25.8% compared to the previous year, amounting to $1.938 million. The items imported from Thailand span various sectors, with a predominant focus on fish, meat, vegetables, automobiles, organic fertilizers, food products, and construction materials.

This trade partnership between Cambodia and Thailand continues to play a pivotal role in bolstering economic ties and fostering regional cooperation. Despite the challenges posed by global economic dynamics, the steady flow of goods and commodities between these two nations remains a testament to their resilient trade relationship.
