Japanese Investors Forge Path to Develop Construction Technical Training School in Cambodia

Japanese investors have unveiled ambitious plans to establish a state-of-the-art construction technical training school in Cambodia, marking a significant stride in the realm of skill development and bilateral cooperation.

This exciting revelation came to light during a high-level meeting held on 4 October, where former Japanese Minister of Justice, Iwaki Mitsuhide, along with representatives from Japanese organisations like Kanken, Fukagawa, and SP Creation, engaged in discussions with HE Tuy Ry, Cambodia’s Ambassador to Japan.

The Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Japan subsequently issued a statement, affirming this groundbreaking initiative. Iwaki Mitsuhide also took this opportunity to introduce an upcoming venture, the establishment of a sister city relationship between Iwaki, Fukushima Prefecture, and a Cambodian city or province.

The meeting on 4 October 2023, solidified the commitment of Japanese investors to explore opportunities for investment in Cambodia. The Japanese delegation’s proposals are poised to play a pivotal role in Cambodia’s development landscape.

In response, the Cambodian Ambassador expressed his heartfelt appreciation for these two significant projects, emphasising their paramount importance for Cambodia’s progress. He affirmed that the embassy would work closely with relevant institutions in Cambodia to facilitate and realise these ventures, underscoring their potential to drive the nation’s growth.

This constructive collaboration not only signifies a strong bilateral partnership but also holds the promise of enhancing Cambodia’s workforce through advanced technical training, aligning with the nation’s vision for sustainable development.
