Japanese firms mull establishing natural gas and solar power plants in Cambodia

The Embassy of Japan in Cambodia said that a number of Japanese firms plan to establish many development projects in Cambodia, especially in the renewable energy sector.

The information was stated by the Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia HE Masahiro Mikami in the meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen on Tuesday 28 December.

“Japan has a number of companies planning to build natural gas and solar power plants in Cambodia,” said HE Mikami.

He also informed that Japan will continue to provide full support to upgrade the Sihanoukville into the core port of Cambodia.

PM Hun Sen in response welcomed the investment projects and also expressed sincere thanks to the Japanese government for always supporting the development of Cambodia.
