Kampong Cham Province Achieved Significant Infrastructure Development in 2024

Kampong Cham province completed over 119 kilometers of road construction in 2024 in a remarkable stride towards improving its infrastructure. This achievement was announced by HE Un Chanda, Governor of Kampong Cham Province, during a press conference.

During the year 2024 alone, the province welcomed 27 projects aimed at developing DBST (Dense Bituminous Surface Treatment) paved roads, contributing a total of 119.1 kilometers to the local infrastructure. In addition to this, Kampong Cham also saw the development of 207 concrete roads spanning 89.5 kilometers and the construction of 38 dirt roads measuring 155.6 kilometers.

Governor Un Chanda emphasized the province’s numerous accomplishments, which were made possible with the support of the Cambodian government and various development partners. Key projects include establishing a state-of-the-art garbage disposal site and the implementation of essential sewage and drainage systems for rainwater management and clean water accessibility.

Economically, Kampong Cham province showcased an impressive growth rate of 8.6% in 2024, with total economic output reaching USD 2.657 million. Breaking this down further, the agricultural sector contributed USD 1.034 million, while contributions from the industrial and service sectors are yet to be specified. The province recorded a GDP per capita of USD 2,311 for the year.

Looking ahead, provincial authorities are optimistic about 2025, predicting an economic size of USD 2.867 million and an increase in per capita GDP to USD 2,478.

As Kampong Cham continues to advance in infrastructure and economic development, the community looks forward to a future of sustained growth and improved living standards for its residents.
