Kampong Speu Authorities Seize Over 300 Hectares of Illegally Owned Land in Aoral District

The Kampong Speu provincial administration has seized two illegally owned land plots in Aoral district totalling 315.5 hectares, according to Order No. 50/21 dated 20 August 2021.

The first plot is 313 hectares located in Trapeang Thmea village, Ta Sal commune while the other is 2.5 hectares located in Por Meas village, Trapeang Chour commune, stated the Order.

Kampong Speu Governor HE Vy Samnang told Construction & Property Magazine on th morning of Tuesday 24 August that the confiscation took place after the government found illegal occupation.

According to the provincial administration, as of mid-2020, over 4,000 hectares of illegally owned land in Kampong Speu province has been seized.

The illegal land seizure campaign was done following the approval of the ‘Draft Law on State Property Management and Use,’ in July last year. (Read more)

Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen back then also warned that those corrupt officials who illegally obtained their land will be punished heavily, and those illegally issued titles will also be void. (Read more)
