The retail landscape of Cambodia is set to experience a dynamic shift as E-Mart 24 Inc., the renowned South Korean convenience store chain, unveils its plans to make a resounding debut in the country. In a strategic move projected to redefine convenience, E-Mart 24 is slated to open its first Cambodian branch in the first quarter of 2024.

With an ambitious vision, the company is steadfastly charting its course toward establishing an impressive network of 100 stores within five years of launching its inaugural outlet, according to South Korean media reported on 28 August 2023.

E-Mart 24’s announcement comes as a defining moment, as the brand sets its sights on capitalizing on the burgeoning Cambodian market. With a planned rollout that is poised to revolutionize the convenience store landscape, the company’s entry signals not just a transaction, but an immersive journey into enhancing the lives of Cambodian customers.

The synergy behind this strategic move is exemplified by a robust three-way memorandum of understanding (MOU) inked between E-Mart 24, Saisons Brother Holding Corp., and Hanlim Architecture Group. Saisons Brother Holding Corp., a prominent retail entity rooted in Cambodia, joins hands with Hanlim Architecture Group, a distinguished real estate powerhouse in South Korea, to ensure the seamless establishment and operation of E-Mart 24’s ventures in Cambodia.

Choi Eun Yong, Managing Director of E-Mart 24, expressed his optimism during the signing ceremony of the MOU. He highlighted that “ our collective efforts aimed at ensuring E-Mart 24’s triumphant foothold in the Cambodian market—a market that holds tremendous growth potential.”

Additionally, he hinted at the brand’s global aspirations, hinting at the possibility of extending E-Mart 24’s footprint to other countries.
