Malaysia Invests US$3 billion in Cambodia

Cambodia received US$3.2 billion in direct investment from Malaysia as of February 2022, according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Malaysians have invested in the financial, manufacturing, real estate, hotels and restaurants, agriculture, and construction sectors in Cambodia, worth a total of US$ 3.2 billion.

The figure was revealed during a meeting between HE Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and a delegation of 53 Malaysian Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) on 27 April 2022.

The ministry said that the business community in Cambodia is strengthening the relationship between Cambodia and Malaysia by promoting bilateral trade and investment, focusing on mutual trust and mutual benefit.
