New Kompong Popil Market in Prey Veng Worth Over US$1M Officially Inaugurated

Samdech Krolahom Sar Kheng, Minister of Interior, officially inaugurated the new Kompong Popil Market worth about US$1.47 million in Kompong Popil commune, Pea Reang district, Prey Veng province on 24 May 2022.

Construction on the market began in February 2021 and was completed in April 2022 under the support of Samdech Sar Kheng and other donors and replaced the old market which was destroyed by fire.

The market facility has an area of ​​about 3,000 square metres being 62 metres long and more than 57 metres wide, with two floors and a total of 410 stalls.

In addition, the new market is equipped with electricity, clean water, a drainage system, lighting, and the construction of a concrete road more than 400 metres long connecting the market to National Road 8.

During the ceremony, Samdech Sar Kheng asked all sellers to cooperate with the market commission and local authorities by orderly arranging stalls with goods.

Besides the market, Pea Reang and Pur Rieng districts have also been developed with more roads and bridges with the support of Samdech Sar Kheng.
