Opening of Century Entertainment Casino in Koh Kong Delayed

Century Entertainment International Holdings Ltd has decided to once again delay the reopening date of its casino at the new venue in Dara Sakor district, Koh Kong province, due to the continued impact of the ongoing COVID-19 community outbreak in Cambodia, reported IAG.

This is the third time that the reopening has been postponed, from February to March, then again to late April. As the result, the firm did not specify the exact date of the reopening. (Read more)

According to Century Entertainment on Friday, due to strict lockdown measures in place across the region, there has been no significant progress on the re-opening preparation work on the new casino including systems testing and provision of training to casino staff.

“The new casino will continue with the remaining preparation works and strive for re-opening as soon as the current COVID-19 pandemic situation in Cambodia eases and personnel are able to move in the city,” it added.

Century Entertainment’s casino was originally located at the Sunshine Bay Hotel in Sihanoukville. However, the firm decided to move to the Long Bay project in Dara Sakor after the previous contract expired in September last year. (Read more)

The new lease agreement was made between the firm and Long Bay Entertainment for 15 years, from 01 October 2020 to 30 September 2035.

This new site has a total area of 10,500 square metres with 20 mass gaming tables, seven tables for niu-niu poker, 10 tables for baccarat including Century Entertainment’s assignment, one table each for blackjack, sicbo and poker, 25 VIP tables, 50 EGMs and a Chinese restaurant.
