Over 200 Korean Investment Projects Worth US$5bn Registered in Cambodia as of February 2022

The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has registered 219 Korean investment projects worth a total of US$5 billion as of February 2022, a large part of which are construction and real estate projects.

The figures were presented during a meeting between CDC Secretary-General HE Sok Chenda Sophea and South Korea’s Minister of Government Policy Coordination HE Koo Yun-cheol on 30 March.

In the meeting, HE Sok Chenda Sophea highly valued investment from Korea in bringing capital and technology to Cambodia.

HE Sok Sophea Chenda briefed his guests on Cambodia’s new investment law, which came into force at the end of 2021.

He expects that this new investment law will help attract more investment from Korea to Cambodia, especially in the digital and food processing sectors.

The government of South Korea recently pledged to provide additional concessional credit packages through a new Framework Arrangement of about US$1.2 billion to Cambodia from 2022 to 2026. (Read more)
