Over 500 Inter-ministerial Officials Reconfiguring Land Use in Mondulkiri

A total of 550 inter-ministerial officials from the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction (MLMUPC), the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and the Ministry of Environment, are in the field measuring and reconfiguring land uses in Mondulkiri province, according to a MLMUPC’s press release on 28 July.

The team is using the satellite data acquisition device T 300 Plus GNSS to measure and collect data on state land, land of long-term occupants, and also the land of the indigenous community. After the data collection is completed, the team will proceed to the next stage.

The new inter-ministerial working group was established by the Ministry of Interior on 22 July to strengthen law implementation and investigate all land encroachment cases in protected areas in Mondulkiri province (Read more)

To date, the Mondulkiri Provincial Administration and relevant officers have already seized back over than 2,000 hectares of illegally-occupied land and pledged to continue the action. (Read more)
