Recycled plastic waste to be recycled into construction materials and furniture in green business venture

Plastic waste recycling has been brought up as a part of green business during the forum, known as Green Business of the European Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (EuroCham Cambodia).

On 10 October, EuroCham Cambodia hosted its 5th edition of the landmark Green Business Forum 2019. While various topics were discussed, the factor considered the most important be tackled and awareness raised on is waste management.

An initiative for plastic waste recycling has been proposed came from Gomi Recycle 110 Co., Ltd. with other corporations and support from government and private companies. Chip Mong Group Company is also a part of this project according to Pheap Sovanvichily who is a marketing and sales representative at Gomi Recycle 110 Co., Ltd.

The challenges which the company currently faces is the lack of trucks for collecting waste to meet certain international standards.

The target area for the project is in Svay Rieng province. The plastic waste will be transformed into construction materials for different purposes of consumption whereas other plastic wastes will also be used to create furniture.
