PM Hun Sen Asks Borey Owners to Restructure Installment to Financially Hit-Bory Buyers

PM Hun Sen has called on the owners of Boreys and flat houses to implement flexible measures to the difficulties of the people who are late in paying instalments and to restructure instalments to buyers.

In a meeting with more than 10,000 garment workers in Kampong Chhnang province on June 9, Samdech Techo introduced his assistants to a list of which Bory confiscated people’s houses after the people were late in paying their instalments to find a win-win solution.

“I would like to ask all Borey owners to understand the difficulties of customers who used to have high incomes, but their income is declining, should restructure their loans,” he said.

Samdech added that some people paid US$50,000 on the price of a house worth US$100,000 and were confiscated by the Borey owner when they are late, which is unfair.

As the authorities could not record and know the exact number of confiscated houses, he asked people whose houses were confiscated to report to the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) and ordered CDC Secretary-General HE Sok Chenda Sophea to compile a list of those who Borey confiscated houses.
