Phnom Penh-SHV Expressway to Implement Full Toll Rates from 1 November

The Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway Company has confirmed it will transition to full toll rates beginning 1 November 2024, concluding a 20% discount period ending at 00:00 on 31 October. This was detailed in the company’s official announcement dated 31 October 2024.

To support smoother travel, the expressway company will offer Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) devices at no extra charge, accessible at expressway entrance administrative buildings and designated centers. Users can obtain an ETC device by loading a USD 20 balance to their account, with ETC service lanes located on the right-hand side of both Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville toll plazas. The ETC devices are intended to ease traffic flow, providing a faster, more efficient payment method.

Transport companies with memorandums of understanding with the expressway will maintain their agreed discounts despite implementing the new rate.

During its trial phase from 1 October to 31 October 2022, the company waived toll fees for all vehicle types, marking the first large-scale promotion of the expressway.

As a gesture of appreciation, the expressway company extended the 20% toll discount for ETC and Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) users until 31 October 2024. This extension was designed to thank patrons while promoting economic development and fostering a more efficient Cambodian transportation sector. (Read more)
