PM Hun Sen Inaugurates State-of-the-Art Royal Academy of Justice in a Monumental $5 Million Ceremony

Under the presidency of Prime Minister Hun Sen, two magnificent buildings of the Royal Academy of Justice have been officially unveiled, standing proudly on a sprawling 2-hectare expanse with an astounding value of over $4 million. The grand inauguration took place on June 6, 2023, marking a significant milestone in Cambodia’s judicial landscape.

The first of the two edifices is the “Multipurpose Administration Building of Justice,” an impressive structure spanning 60m x 30m and encompassing three towering floors, offering a vast total area of 4,946 square meters. This administrative hub will serve as a central space for the Ministry of Justice, the Council for Legal and Judicial Reform, and various other key justice-related entities.

Complementing this remarkable architectural feat is the second building, known as the “Royal Academy of Justice.” With dimensions of 52m x 40m and three impeccably designed floors, it boasts a sprawling area of 5,716 square meters. This distinguished venue will serve as a training center for the prestigious Royal Academy of Justice of Cambodia, as well as the esteemed Lawyer Training Center of the Bar Association of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

The construction of these awe-inspiring structures required meticulous dedication, taking one year, six months, and twenty-seven days to reach completion. The total investment for this grand project reached a staggering $4.91 million, a testament to the government’s unwavering commitment to advancing the legal and judicial sector.

This momentous occasion signifies Cambodia’s steadfast pursuit of justice, education, and progress, as the Royal Academy of Justice stands as a beacon of excellence in legal training and administration. With these remarkable facilities in place, Cambodia’s legal scholars, practitioners, and future generations will be nurtured and empowered, ensuring the continued advancement and integrity of the nation’s judicial system.
