Royal Government Creates Special Working Group to Study National Building Technical Regulations

The royal government of Cambodia has created the National Council for Building Technical Regulations to study and develop effective and sustainable regulations in accordance with article 11 of the Law on Construction.

Created by Sub-decree 103 dated 31 May 2022, the national council has 26 representatives of relevant ministries/institutions and the private sector as members, chaired by the Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction.

This special working group has an important role in preparing and submitting proposals to the Royal Government for the implementation of national building technical regulations and monitoring the implementation, setting rules for the study of construction technical standards and regulations.

In addition, they also can cooperate, train and publish to ministries, institutions, NGOs, private sectors, professionals and the public about building technical regulations.

The sub-decree also includes representatives from the private sector, such as the Cambodian Constructors Association, the Housing Development Association of Cambodia, the Cambodian Valuers and Estate Agents Association, and representatives of higher education institutions and related research institutes.
