Royal Group, Keppel Sign Agreement to Export 1,000 Megawatts of Power to Singapore

Royal Group Power Company Ltd (RGP), a subsidiary of Royal Group, has entered into an agreement with Keppel Infrastructure Holdings Pte Ltd (KI) through its subsidiary Keppel Energy Pte Ltd (KE) to export 1,000 megawatts of power to Singapore via a submarine high voltage transmission line.

The two sides signed a preliminary agreement to study the feasibility of the joint development and operation of renewable energy projects in Cambodia during the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit 2022 on 11 November.

Neak Oknha Kith Meng, President of Royal Group Power, said, “The exclusive agreement with Keppel is to develop and export up to 1,000 megawatts of energy from the Kingdom of Cambodia to the Republic of Singapore, as well as to develop power transmission infrastructure to export energy from Laos.”

He added that this cooperation will greatly contribute to the wider implementation of the ASEAN Power Transmission Line through the ASEAN Electricity Connection.

This agreement is part of KI’s strategy to seek sustainable and reliable energy resources that support energy trade across ASEAN borders.
