Samdech Techo Hun Sen Promotes Law-Based Trading System for Sustainable Development

Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia, has urged Asia to open up its trade system and international law-based trading system, which is the highest value for ensuring sustainable global development.

The PM made the remarks at the international conference on the future of Asia, held on 27 May.

The RCEP pact is the best example of an open, inclusive, and rules-based trading system, he said.

“All countries must adhere to the principle of peaceful co-existence, non-interference, and respect for one another’s livelihood, tradition, customs, and history, which are the highest values in ensuring a sustainable and global atmosphere development”,​ Samdech Techo Hun Sen said.

Entering into force on 01 January 2022, RCEP comprises 15 Asia-Pacific countries including 10 ASEAN member states, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, and their five trading partners, including Japan, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand, according to Xinhua.
