South Korea to Develop Smart Farm Project in Cambodia

Cambodia and South Korea last week signed an MoU to establish a Smart Farm Project in Cambodia, through aid of the Republic of Korea, for Cambodia’s agricultural development.

The signing ceremony was presided over by HE Ngin Chhay, Delegate of the Royal Government of Cambodia in charge of the Director-General of the General Department of Agriculture and Dr Harry Hwang, Executive Director and Founder of the Cambodian-Korean Cultural and Economic Exchange Association Cultural Exchange Federation Association (CKEF) of the Republic of Korea.

Through this cooperation, the project will establish a national technical training centre, providing technical training to government officers and farmers nationwide. Besides, both parties will also develop 100 hectares of land into a farming and research area.

Regarding the location, the delegates will discuss and ask for further guidance from the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries at a later date.
