Five bridges inaugurated in Battambong Province

The Government of Cambodia officially inaugurated five bridges in Battambang province on 14 August as part of its strategic masterplan to fully integrate connectivity nationwide.

The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Samdech Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Interior, and H.E. Sun Chanthol, Minister of Public Works and Transport, and was attended by hundreds of other relevant officers and locals.

The five bridges include the main one in Banan district, and four other small bridges along the Sangke river located in Samlot, Bovel, Ek Phnom, and Kamrieng districts respectively. The main bridge in Banan district is 162 metres long and 8 metres wide, which was built under the government budget of approximately US$1.2 million by the Ministry of National Defense.

During the ceremony, Samdech Sar Kheng noted that these bridges, as well as other infrastructures in the kingdom, would not exist without the strong cooperation of the government and citizens.

Meanwhile, H.E. Sun Chanthol has also urged locals to use all the infrastructures with caution and care for the sake of sustainability.
