Battambang Municipality enhances infrastructure along Sangke River to boost tourism

The Battambang Provincial Administration is currently enhancing the overall infrastructure within the province, especially area along the Sangke River, with the aim to boost tourism within the province as well as to be ready for hosting the 6th River Festival from 13 to 15 March 2020.

Battambang Provincial Governor H.E. Nguon Ratanak said the project includes building new sidewalks on both sides of the river, the installation of major road lighting systems, safety fences, and especially night market as well as the street food zone.

He added that the ongoing construction of the concrete floor is an additional task to the previous improvement that was done since 2019.

Battambang is a potential tourist destination, which attracts more and more tourists every year. Tourism Mister H.E. Dr. Thong Khon said that after the completion of the National Road No. 5 renovation, the railway system, and the major international checkpoints, this province would be able to attract even more tourists.
