US$50 million Chinese-funded Tbong Khmum Hospital 97% Complete

The construction of the US$50 million Cambodia-China Friendship Hospital in Tbong Khmum is now over 97% complete and set for final completion by the end of November, according to a site inspection by Minister of Health HE Mam Bunheng on Tuesday 23 November.

Upon completion, this hospital will become a modern standardised facility and the largest hospital to serve the region including Tbong Khmum, Kratie, Ratanakiri, Stung Treng and Mondulkiri provinces.

The 300-bed hospital consists of 8 buildings, each with 5 floors, and 24 metres high, with all buildings connected to each other.

There are 5 floors for the inpatient department, 5 floors for obstetrics and gynaecology, 2 floors for the administration department and doctors accommodation, and 1 floor for the general department.

The entire building is being built on an area of 24,300 square metres and will have a total area of 55,815 square metres. (Read more)

Built with grant aid from China, the hospital began construction in March 2019 and will soon be inaugurated by Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen.
