Japan to Provide US$24 million Grant Aid to Expand Water Supply System in Svay Rieng

Cambodia and Japan will sign an agreement on Wednesday 2 March on a Japanese grant of approximately US$41 million for the development of two major projects in Cambodia.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on 28 February, the first project is the expansion of the water supply system in Svay Rieng province worth 2,786 million yen (approximately US$24 million).

Meanwhile, the second project is the integrated mine clearance and landmine victim assistance phase 2 worth 2 billion yen (approximately US$17 million).

This grant aid is part of the Japanese government’s assistance to boost Cambodia’s economic and social development.
