Chinese win twin tower contract

Two Chinese companies have won the contract to construct the Thai Boon Roong twin towers project in Phnom Penh.

Sino Great Wall Holdings and Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group signed a joint venture agreement and won the contract with a bid of USD2.7 billion.

When the project is completed, the 133-storey towers will soar 560 metres high. This will make it more than double the highest building in the country, more than 100 metres taller than the Petronas Towers in KL and the world’s 5th highest building.

The development will feature apartments, office space, a luxury hotel, shopping mall and an entertainment centre. Construction is expected to take at least five years.
