SME Bank Provides Over US$53m in Loans to 230 Enterprises in 2022

In 2022, the Small and Medium Enterprise Bank of Cambodia (SME Bank) provided a total of US$53 million loan to 230 small and medium enterprises, according to the official report recently. 

According to the report, the first and second phases of the SME support project, which was successfully completed, provided support to a total of 2,745 enterprises with a total budget of US$340 million. 

SME Bank is also implementing a joint venture financing project to restore and promote growth in the tourism sector with a total budget of US$150 million. 

As of December 2022, the bank provided loans of this total budget to business owners in the tourism sector in about 300 locations with a total loan size of more than US$42 million. (Read more)

At the same time, in order to rehabilitate the small and medium enterprise sector, the government plans to allocate an additional US$100 million to the Small and Medium Enterprise Bank (SME Bank) in 2023. (Read more)
