Japan Provides over US$160k for Emergency Project to a Hospital in Sihanoukville

The Government of Japan has provided $ 166,837 for the procurement of used ambulances and fire trucks for the Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Hospital in Sihanoukville. This is according to the signing ceremony of the grant agreement on March 28, 2023.

This project provides 2 ambulances and 2 fire trucks, which were modified and provided to the Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Hospital in Sihanoukville.

HE UENO ATSUSHI, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Cambodia, said that by providing two ambulances and two fire trucks, the hospital can improve its capacity in In case of an emergency, such as being able to send more patients in need of emergency or be able to put out large fires and wildfires.

He added that the project will contribute to ensuring the safety of about 20,000 people living near the hospital.

It should be noted that the above assistance is under the grant scheme for the Small-Scale Human Security Project (Kusanoni Grant), for which Japan recently provided $ 145,692 for the construction of a community technology center in Bati district, Takeo province. (Read more)
