Cambodia’s Gold Refineries Shine: 8 tons of Gold Ore Processed, Generating US$13 Million in Royalties

In a glittering testament to Cambodia’s burgeoning gold industry, six prominent companies engaged in gold refinery production have collectively processed a remarkable 8,334 kilograms of gold ore as of 25 September 2023.

According to a report released by the Ministry of Mines and Energy, the grand total equates to an impressive 922 gold bars, reflecting the relentless efforts of these companies in Cambodia’s burgeoning gold sector. The economic impact is striking, with the government reaping the rewards in the form of US$13 million in royalties from these industrious companies.

The six companies instrumental in this remarkable feat are Renaissance Minerals (Cambodia) Ltd., operating from the scenic O’Khvav in Keo Seima district, Mondulkiri province; Xinshan, stationed in Phnom Mlong, Preah Vihear province; Delcom Cambodia, another key player in the Phnom Mlong region, Preah Vihear province; Rong Cheng Company, contributing its part from the Chong Plas area in Mondulkiri province; Xing Yuan Company, adding its efforts from the Otron area in Kratie province; and last but not least, LATE CHENG MINING DEVELOPMENT CO., LTD, making its mark from the Phnom Chi area, Kampong Thom province.

Among these enterprising companies, Renaissance Minerals in Mondulkiri province stands out as the leader, having contributed over 7.8 tons to the impressive collective output.
