More than 20 Thai Firms Explores Investment Opportunities in Kratie Province

More than 20 Thai companies, led by the Thai Embassy in Cambodia, are actively seeking business and investment prospects in Kratie province. This initiative aims to bolster trade volumes and foster economic collaboration between Cambodia and Thailand, particularly within the new economic zone linking both nations.

The visit, headed by HE Chheut Kiet, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Cambodia, along with officials from the Thai Embassy and Cambodian private sector representatives, took place at the UBE Snoul Special Economic Zone on 1 April 2024.

During the visit, Mr. Hean Sopauline, Managing Director of the UBE Snoul Special Economic Zone, showcased the immense potential of Kratie province, emphasising its strength in agriculture, agro-industry, and the forthcoming establishment of rubber processing and industrial plants within the region.

In response, the Thai Ambassador and the delegation of 20 companies expressed their commitment to fostering mutually beneficial economic ties. They underscored the importance of augmenting trade and investment, particularly by bolstering industrial cooperation. This collaboration aims to integrate supply chains between the two nations, thereby expanding connectivity opportunities throughout the region.

Accompanied by HE Heng Sotha, Deputy Governor of Kratie Province, the delegation also visited the Trapeang Sre International Gate (Cambodia-Vietnam). This visit underscores the strategic connectivity between Cambodia and Vietnam, further facilitating Thailand’s access to the deep-sea port of Ho Chi Minh City and streamlining regional trade logistics.
