CAIC Secures 12-Year Deal with French Firm for Duty-Free Retail at Techo International Airport

CAIC has signed a 12-year contract with French company Lagardère Travel Retail SAS and local partner HSC Group to operate duty-free goods, essential travel equipment, and catering services at Techo International Airport. National Television of Cambodia reported this significant development on 26 June 2024.

Séverine Lanthier, Executive Director for Asia and Strategy and Development Director at Lagardère Travel Retail SAS, affirmed the company’s commitment to enhancing the quality of passenger and food services for both national and international travellers at Techo International Airport.

Oknha Charles Van, Governor of Canadia Group, highlighted that this collaboration would elevate the airport’s reputation and offer a new experience in food and beverage services for travellers.

As part of the agreement, Lagardère Travel Retail SAS will establish 34 high-end department stores, encompassing high-end duty-free shops, department stores, and restaurants. The venture will also provide comprehensive catering services and travel accessories stores to meet the diverse needs of modern travellers.

CAIC has invested over US$1.1 billion in the development of Techo International Airport, with the project now 78% complete. The first phase of the airport is set to begin operations in early 2025, expected to accommodate 13 million passengers annually.
