The “Border Infrastructure Fund” was initially announced by Samdech Hun Manet in a video statement on 22 August 2024, marking the first anniversary of the establishment of the 7th term of the Royal Government. The fund provides an opportunity for Cambodians, both inside and outside the country, to directly contribute to the Royal Government’s efforts in national defence and development. The initiative aims to enhance peace, sovereignty, and territorial integrity while promoting sustainable development in the border areas.

Since the announcement of the fund, there has been widespread participation from citizens across various sectors, demonstrating strong support for the project. This national initiative underscores the unity and dedication of Cambodians towards strengthening the country’s borders and ensuring sustainable infrastructure development. In response to this overwhelming support, Samdech PM issued a letter of thanks to all the philanthropists who generously contributed to the “Border Infrastructure Fund.”
