Mondulkiri Advances Land Registration with Over 40,000 Certificates Issued

Mondulkiri province has achieved significant progress in land registration, with over 89,776 hectares surveyed and 40,323 land ownership certificates issued as of 2024.

A report presented by the Department of Land Management, Urban Planning, Construction, and Cadastre during a conference on 26 November 2024 outlined these advancements and upcoming initiatives.

The report also highlighted the registration of 331,439 hectares of state land, accounting for 18% of the province’s total area.

The department has made strides in addressing Indigenous community land registration, recognizing 36 communities as legal entities. Seven communities have received land certificates, and 12 others are in the registration process. Efforts continue to formalize collective land ownership for 27 Indigenous communities, ensuring their legal recognition and protection.

Looking ahead, the Provincial Land Management Department has outlined plans to further expedite land registration processes. Key initiatives include completing state land registration, facilitating property ownership transfers, issuing additional certificates, and prioritizing Indigenous community land registration. The department is also committed to resolving ongoing land disputes to improve clarity and security for residents.
