Stung Treng Authorities Take Strong Action Against Illegal Land Occupation

In a decisive move to protect state forest land and uphold environmental laws, the Stung Treng provincial authorities have officially announced the reclamation of nearly 120 hectares of land from illegal occupation. This action follows the recent issuance of Order No. 008/25 D.K., dated 19 February 2025.

The order details the reclamation of 119.24 hectares in the Vern Sai-Siem Pang National Park area, specifically within Talat commune, Se San district. These lands have suffered from illegal logging and encroachment, undermining the integrity of critical forest resources. Along with the land, all crops that have been illegally planted will be removed.

Considering this order, authorities have established a 30-day period from the signing date for individuals or groups to voice their objections. However, it is important to note that any actions or regulations that contradict this reclamation order will be considered null and void.

Authorities urge all individuals to comply with this order to promote sustainable land use and environmental protection. Failure to adhere could result in legal consequences. The provincial government remains committed to safeguarding the region’s natural resources and maintaining the ecological balance within Stung Treng.
