Cambodia’s Tourism Soars with Impressive Revenue from Ticket Sales

Cambodia is celebrating a significant boost in tourism as the country rakes in over USD 13.55 million from ticket sales in just the first two months of 2025. According to a report released by the Angkor Foundation, the magnificent temples of Angkor continue to attract visitors from around the globe, reaffirming Cambodia’s status as a premier travel destination.

In January and February alone, a remarkable 279,604 foreign tourists purchased tickets to explore the breath-taking Angkor Archaeological Park, contributing USD 13,167,778 in revenue. This marks a substantial 17.21% increase compared to the same period in 2024, highlighting the growing allure of Cambodia’s rich cultural heritage.

But the excitement doesn’t stop at Angkor. The revenue didn’t only stem from ticket sales to the iconic temples; visitors also flocked to extraordinary sites like Koh Ker, Beng Melaya, and Phnom Kbal Spean and enjoyed scenic boat rides. These additional attractions contributed USD 382,473 to the overall revenue, encapsulating the diverse offerings of Cambodia’s tourism sector.

In a move to further enhance the visitor experience, the Angkor Foundation has successfully launched a state-of-the-art online ticketing and inspection system for Angkor Wat. This innovation aims to streamline the process for international tourists, making it easier than ever to explore the revered site.

Moreover, the Cambodian government is rolling out additional initiatives to attract more international travellers. Since January 2025, discounts on eVisa services have been made available, making it more affordable for tourists worldwide to discover Cambodia’s enchanting landscapes and historical treasures.  (Read more and more )
