Joint Efforts Between Cambodia & the US to Advance Digital Park Development

In a significant step towards enhancing Cambodia’s digital landscape, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, in collaboration with the US Embassy, has held productive discussions aimed at promoting the development of a digital park in the country.

The meeting, featuring HE Minister Chea Vandet and Ms. Bridgette L. Walker, Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy, centered on key initiatives including the implementation of digital government strategies, modernisation of institutions, and the establishment of community technology centres. They also highlighted the importance of digital human resource training and advanced programs such as the verify.gov.kh document verification system and the DG SuperApp multipurpose platform.

The US Embassy reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications in these endeavours, aiming for impactful outcomes that will strengthen Cambodia’s technological framework.

Earlier this year, on 6 January, the Ministry of Posts unveiled an ambitious plan to set up a comprehensive digital park designed to enhance digital literacy and foster growth for digital enterprises. This initiative draws inspiration from Thailand’s successful Digital Valley project. (Read more)

Currently, the ministry is actively seeking an appropriate location for the digital park while planning the necessary infrastructure to support its development.

Once established, the park is expected to play a pivotal role in nurturing digital skills, bolstering emerging digital businesses, and fostering a vibrant digital community to attract both local and international investors.

This initiative aligns seamlessly with the Cambodian government’s vision to advance the nation’s digital economy and society, marking a significant leap forward in its technological aspirations.
