Two New Special Economic Zones Worth Nearly USD 200 Million Planned for Kampong Speu and Kampot

Cambodia is set to welcome two major Special Economic Zone (SEZ) developments, with a combined investment value nearing USD 200 million, according to the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC). The new SEZs are planned for Kampong Speu Province and Kampot Province, both of which have attracted growing investor interest in recent years.

The projects were reviewed during a recent CDC meeting under the “Single Entry–Exit” investment framework, which aims to streamline investment approvals and accelerate large-scale development initiatives.

CDC officials noted that the establishment of these SEZs will play a significant role in driving provincial economic growth, creating thousands of jobs, supporting local businesses, and expanding Cambodia’s industrial base. The zones are expected to host a variety of manufacturing and processing industries designed to strengthen export capacity and enhance regional competitiveness.

In recent years, Cambodia has continued to draw substantial domestic and international investment. CDC data shows that investment proposals have increased steadily since 2020, with particular momentum in sectors such as manufacturing, agro-industry, and logistics.

The two new SEZ developments in Kampong Speu and Kampot reflect the government’s ongoing efforts to promote balanced regional development and expand economic opportunities across the country.
