Bentley Systems Launches Ecosystem Catalog to Integrate Sustainability Solutions at COP30

Bentley Systems, a leading provider of software solutions for infrastructure engineering, has unveiled a new collaborative platform—the Bentley Ecosystem Catalog—aimed at positioning infrastructure as the central solution to climate change challenges.

According to Bentley’s Director of Sustainability, Rodrigo Fernandes, infrastructure is just like the “Matrix of the physical world,” a complex and interconnected system where weaknesses in one area can create cascading risks across communities.

The key to solving climate change lies in our ability to manage those fragmented, individual systems of infrastructure—such as roads, water, and transit—under one system, which Rodrigo Fernandes called “Cracking the Matrix.”

“Cracking the Matrix of infrastructure means seeing beyond individual assets to understand the system that connects them—and building resilience… by strengthening the intelligence, adaptability, and interdependence that keep the whole network alive,” said Rodrigo Fernandes.

This is where the Bentley Ecosystem Catalog comes in handy, by helping construction companies achieve decarbonization, improve resilience, and enhance environmental outcomes across the entire lifecycle of infrastructure construction projects.

Bentley announced its first cohort of sustainability impact solutions at COP30. These forward-thinking partners are driving innovation through specialized tools that complement Bentley’s core engineering software:

  • Carbon Assessment: One Click LCA and Cerclos (eTool) provide fast, data-driven life cycle assessment (LCA) tools, enabling users to calculate embodied carbon and optimize material usage directly from project data.
  • Climate Resilience: ClimaTwin offers an AI-powered platform to help infrastructure owners and engineers assess and report risks from extreme weather and long-term climate change.
  • Resource Management & Data: 2050 Materials provides the world’s largest database of construction material sustainability data, while OptimiseAI uses AI and digital twins to reduce energy and water consumption and emissions in operational assets.
  • Environmental Health: EarthSense offers advanced air quality monitoring and modeling (MappAir®) to provide real-time data and predictive insights for planners and cities.

By integrating these specialized services, often leveraging platforms like Bentley’s iTwin, the company is empowering its large global user base to deliver better, more sustainable outcomes faster, transforming the way the world builds, connects, and thrives.
