Bridge Construction Crossing Bassac River Planned

Phnom Penh Municipal has planned to build a bridge crossing Bassac River linking Prek Bra district and Chak Angre district.

According to the announcement dated on December 13, Khoung Sreng, Governor of Phnom Penh, established a working group to conduct a study on building the bridge crossing the Bassac River.

The working group is led by Suy Sareth, vice governor of Phnom Penh.

The working group is designed to conduct the study by determining the special location for the bridge construction in the two locations in Prek Bra district and Chak Angre district, the statement read.

The statement went on that the working group is also tasked to collect a survey of residents who get impact from the construction projects.

Local and relevant authorities are asked to cooperate closely with the working group in conducting a study on the bridge construction, the statement read.

There are four bridges crossing on the Bassac River including two Preah Monivong bridges, Prek Samrong bridge, and Koh Thom bridge.
