Cambodia and Singapore Unite to Bolster Trade and Investment Ties

In a significant step toward enhancing bilateral relations, the Singapore Business Federation recently convened with Cambodia’s Ministry of Commerce to strengthen business connections and promote investment opportunities. The meeting took place on July 29, 2025, between HE Cham Nimal, the Minister of Commerce, and Mr. Soo Wei Chieh, Executive Director of International Business and Head of Delegation of the Singapore Business Federation.

During the meeting, Mr. Soo highlighted the favorable prospects and increasing interest in doing business and investing in Cambodia. He commended the Cambodian government for its ongoing commitment to fostering an environment conducive to private sector growth, which is pivotal for the country’s economic progression. Mr. Soo also emphasized the importance of government incentives and new initiatives that support business and investment.

In response, Minister Cham Nimal expressed her gratitude for the Singapore Business Federation’s keen interest in investing in Cambodia. She reiterated the Ministry of Commerce’s dedication to enhancing the business and investment climate through improved trade facilitation, economic diversification, and competitiveness. The Minister also outlined plans to strengthen existing markets while exploring opportunities to expand and create new ones.

This meeting served as a reaffirmation of the Cambodian government’s commitment to facilitating and supporting Singaporean businesses and investors operating within the country, aiming to foster a mutually beneficial economic partnership.
