Cambodia Unveils 10-Year Plan, Prioritising Transport & Logistics Sector Development

Cambodia has identified the transport and logistics sector as its top priority in a new 10-year development plan for 2025–2035 to modernize infrastructure and foster economic growth. The Royal Government of Cambodia confirmed this decision on 3 December 2024 as part of a comprehensive strategy to strengthen public-private partnerships and enhance key infrastructure such as roads, bridges, ports, and logistics systems.

In his announcement, Samdech Thibault Hun Manet, PM of Cambodia, underscored the critical role transport and logistics play in achieving sustainable development goals. The government’s plan places a parallel emphasis on energy and public services, including clean water supply and waste management, recognizing their importance in improving quality of life and supporting economic expansion.

PM Hun Manet has tasked ministries and local authorities to ensure the seamless execution of these priority projects. He stressed that all initiatives must align with the Royal Government’s strategic objectives, ensuring efficiency, transparency, and long-term benefits for citizens and investors alike.

The government also emphasized flexibility within the strategy, noting that new sectors could be added to the plan as circumstances evolve. By fostering adaptive public-private partnerships, Cambodia aims to attract investment, modernize critical infrastructure, and bolster its regional competitiveness.
