MPWT Urges WB to Help Build Standardised Wastewater Management Nationwide

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) has requested the World Bank to support the comprehensive implementation of wastewater management system in major capitals and provinces, following an official meeting on 16 March

MPWT Minister HE Sun Chanthol said some of Cambodia’s potential areas require close cooperation and support from the World Bank in order to achieve quality infrastructure.

“It would be great if the World Bank can make a masterplan or implement the wastewater management in those major capitals and provinces,” he said.

Manuela V. Ferro, World Bank Vice President for East Asia and the Pacific, said she would take a closer look at the minister’s proposals.

She also emphasised that the World Bank would examine the possibility of providing experts to strengthen the capacity of ministry officials in the required sectors.
