Cambodia’s Gold Refinery Shines with Production of 9 Tons

In a glittering testament to Cambodia’s growing prominence in the mining sector, the nation’s commercial gold refinery has proudly unveiled a remarkable achievement—yielding close to 8,979 kilograms of gold ore and contributing a substantial US$14.4 million in royalties as of 17 November.

These impressive figures were disclosed by HE Keo Ratanak, Minister of Mines and Energy, during a press conference on “Mining and Energy Policy in Cambodia” held at Sokha Hotel Phnom Penh.

The Ministry of Mines and Energy has granted gold mining licenses to a total of nine companies, with six currently engaged in commercial production and three in the process of preparing for business operations, Minister Ratanak stated. (Read more)

Among these enterprises, Renaissance Minerals, situated in Mondulkiri province, stands out with the highest yield compared to the other five firms, according to information provided by the ministry.

This substantial production underscores Cambodia’s growing significance in the global mining landscape, positioning the nation as a key player in the extraction and refinement of precious metals.
