Construction of High-rise Building Morgan Tower Kick-off

Construction of Morgan Tower, a high-rise building located in the heart of the Diamond Island, Phnom Penh, began on Saturday 18 August, 2018.

Backed by Chinese firm Morgan, the project is expected to cost US$160 million and feature a five-star hotel, offices, and other facilities. The tower will stand at 46 storeys and approximately 210 metres. The whole building is being constructed using technology that will help reduce the use of electricity.

Speaking during the grand opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister H.E Hor Namhong welcomed the new project while citing the prosperity of Cambodia-China relations.

“I hope that Morgan and the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) will continue to work closely together to develop real estate and construction infrastructure and other investment in Cambodia under the “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership” between Cambodia and China” he said.

H.E Hor Namhong thanked China for its massive assistance to Cambodia in the form of grants, loans and investment, especially on the construction of 3,000 kilometres of roads and seven bridges across the country. Between 2013-2018, China has invested more than US$21 billion in Cambodia.
