Construction of Kampot Tourism Port Set for Completion in June After Many Delays

The Kampot Tourism Port construction project was 93% complete by March, with the entire project expected to be completed in June 2022 after many delays.

The progress of the construction was updated during a site inspection by HE Sun Chanthol, Minister of Public Works and Transport, on 29 March.

With ground broken in 2018, the construction of this project has been delayed many times, from the original plan to open for operation in April 2020, to early 2021, then late 2021, and to early 2022.

In response to many delays, HE Sun Chanthol has ordered the construction company to complete the entire project within the next three months.

According to the construction company’s presentation, the construction of the building was completed, only works related to decoration and gardening remained.

The construction project of the Kampot tourism port is being implemented under a loan of US$9.2 million from the Asian Development Bank.
