Emirates Airlines Expands Direct Flight Services to Cambodia to Enhance Tourism & Trade

In a significant boost to travel and trade, Emirates Airlines has announced its commitment to expanding flight connections with Cambodia, marking a pivotal step in enhancing tourism between the two nations. The announcement comes on the heels of the airline’s inaugural flight landing at Siem Reap Angkor International Airport on 3 June 2025.

HE Mao Havannal, Minister of State for Civil Aviation, emphasised the importance of this development, noting that the United Arab Emirates is emerging as a vital strategic market for Cambodia. “The expansion of Emirates flights will not only foster economic growth for both countries but also spotlight the historical significance of Siem Reap Angkor,” he stated.

Emirates Country Manager for Cambodia, Mohammed Al Qassim, expressed confidence in the potential of Siem Reap as a tourist destination. He reiterated Emirates’ dedication to supporting Cambodia’s ambitions by facilitating vital flight connections to Dubai and beyond. “We look forward to collaborating with local partners and the Royal Government of Cambodia to promote this new route to travelers worldwide,” Al Qassim added.

Currently, Emirates operates flights to Siem Reap three times weekly, every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, connecting travelers from key European markets, including France, the UK, Germany, Spain, Portugal, and Russia.

Additionally, Emirates plans to enhance connectivity between Phnom Penh and Dubai, with daily flights launched on 1 May 2024, via Singapore. This Dubai-Singapore-Phnom Penh route will further enhance accessibility and economic ties between Cambodia and the UAE.

The expansion of Emirates’ services is anticipated to significantly contribute to the growth of both the tourism and trade sectors in Cambodia, reinforcing the country’s appeal as a developing destination in Southeast Asia.
