Empowering Communities: TaKeo Province Sets Sights on Revolutionary City Planning

The Ministry of Land Management, in partnership with the Takeo Provincial Administration, is embarking on an ambitious journey to implement a comprehensive master plan aimed at elevating the living standards of residents throughout Takeo province. Central to this initiative is the iconic Lake Takeo, which will play a pivotal role in shaping the urban landscape.

During a recent meeting focused on public space planning for Lake Takeo, Minister HE Say Samal highlighted the historical significance of the lake, calling it a vital connector of Cambodia’s civilization, culture, and history. The government envisions transforming the surrounding area into a sprawling public park in Daun Keo city. This project aims not only to enhance recreational options for residents but also to promote public health and improve quality of life in the community.

In a related announcement on February 10, 2025, His Excellency Wei Samnang, Governor of Takeo Province, unveiled plans for an impressive new temple to be constructed in the center of Lake Takeo, with a projected investment exceeding USD 2 million. This initiative seeks to both preserve and showcase the province’s rich cultural heritage while also serving as a catalyst for tourism growth. (Read more)
