Ground breaking by Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen Credit: SPM page

Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen presided over the ground-breaking ceremony of the “Friendship of Cambodia – China Tbong Khmum Hospital”, funded by the People’s Republic of China on 01 March 2019.

This US$50 million hospital project is being built on 24,300 square metres of land, equipped with modern medical equipment, and will serve as the main medical service centre of the province.

The project is the second such healthcare project supported by China after the Preah Kossamak hospital in Phnom Penh. The Tbong Khmum project will take approximately 40 months to complete the construction.

The new hospital is part of the main project of the Cambodian government to create new administrative facilities in Tbong Khmum province. The project is based on the government’s plan of establishing the new Tbong Khmum administration. The government has so far completed the construction of new provincial government buildings.
