Cambodia Earns Nearly US$25m from Angkor, Koh Ker & Boat Ride Ticket Sales in H1-2024

In the first half of 2024, Cambodia generated a substantial revenue of US$24,952,996 from ticket sales for Angkor, Koh Ker, and boating activities, reflecting a significant boost in tourism. This information was revealed in a report released by the Angkor Institute on 1 July 2024.

According to the report, 521,950 foreign tourists purchased tickets to Angkor in the first six months of 2024, bringing in a total of US$24,357,695. This represents an impressive increase of 36.25% compared to the same period last year. In June 2024 alone, the Angkor Institute earned US$2,150,804 from the sale of 49,692 tickets to foreign tourists, marking an 18.72% rise over June 2023.

Additionally, the report highlighted that ticket sales for Koh Ker temple generated US$162,420, while boat ticket sales contributed US$432,881 in revenue during the first half of the year.

Ticket prices for international tourists visiting Angkor are set at US$37 per day, US$62 for a three-day pass, and US$72 for a week-long pass. These rates have contributed significantly to the overall revenue, underscoring the enduring appeal of Cambodia’s iconic historical and cultural sites.
