Honda to Expand Capital Investment in Cambodia After 25 Years of Success

Honda Motor Co., Ltd., through its local partner N.C.X. Co., Ltd, has announced plans to expand its investment in Cambodia, marking over 25 years of successful operations in the country. The decision followed a high-level meeting on 20 September 2024 between Prime Minister Samdech Hun Manet and Mr. Minoru Kato, Executive Director and Vice President of Honda, responsible for motorcycles.

Mr. Kato expressed gratitude to the Cambodian government for its continued support and shared the company’s ambitious plans for business expansion and investment growth in the region.

In response, the PM reaffirmed the Cambodian government’s commitment to Honda’s operations, encouraging the company to explore local manufacturing of components. He highlighted the country’s favourable policies aimed at bolstering the automotive and electronics sectors, including incentives for establishing assembly plants and automobile production in Cambodia.

This expansion comes at a time when the Cambodian automotive industry is rapidly growing, with additional plans from Korean companies Camko Motor and Camko Infracore to begin assembling electric vehicles in the country, signalling a broader shift towards sustainable mobility in the region.
